AN EMBLEM OF MICHELIN HISTORY

Created in 1898 by the poster artist Marius Rossillon, known as O’Galop, Bibendum has accompanied MICHELIN for over a century. His appearance has evolved significantly over the decades, but his silhouette made of tires has become inseparable from the brand's identity.

The character notably originates from a remark made by Édouard Michelin when looking at a stack of tires: with arms and legs, it would look like a man. A few years later, this idea would give birth to one of the most recognizable advertising characters in the world.
